2025-2026 Title IV-E Child Welfare Program Application

The Title IV-E Stipend Program requires that Title IV-E students in the MSW program complete all of the following:

1)  Maintain academic good standing during enrollment in the MSW Program which is defined as maintaining a 3.0 GPA or better every semester and receiving credit for satisfactory performance in the field practice course. Complete all aspects of the MSW curriculum, and successfully graduate as an MSW Title IV-E Student.

2)  Successfully complete and receive a grade of "CREDIT" in two years of field internship placement.  One year of placement will take place in a county public child welfare agency.

3)  All students must provide proof of legal residency (U.S. birth certificate, U.S. passport, lawful permanent resident card, or DACA status) and must be able to be legally employed in California.

4) All students must have a valid, unresticted driver's license, must have access to a vehicle for internship, and maintain automobile insurance while enrolled in internship in the MSW Program.

5)  Attend child welfare training seminars and course work, and meet the MSW Title IV-E Child Welfare Curriculum Competencies.

6) Applicants must agree to work in a public child welfare services agency (CWS) in California for at least two years of full time permanent employment upon graduation from the MSW program.
