Your Data is Being Collected for a Research Study and
Your Answers Will Remain Confidential
Your data is being collected for a research study. Your
answers to survey questions, as well as your uploaded sample paper, will be
correlated with other student records, which includes information about your grades,
progress toward degree, and demographic information. Your data will be stored
with other Writing Program data behind the SJSU firewall.
We will use this data internally to improve our upper-division
and advanced writing programs at SJSU, and externally in conference
presentations and written reports and articles.
Your data will be stripped of all identifying information
before publication, and aggregate results only will be presented in any public
presentations or published research results. In any public report we publish,
we will not include any information that will make it possible for anyone to
identify you, your answers, or your sample paper.
Your participation in the UDW Directed Self Placement is voluntary and your answers will remain confidential. Your responses will NOT be shared with your instructors, and no identifying information will be shared with either internal or external audiences.
